The Week's Best Plays
There was no shortage of great games and plays this weekend across all sports leagues. Plenty of upsets in CFB and the NFL (just ask the The Blitz about the Rams) either. But the focus here is on the playmakers, the glue guys that fought to the last possession. Without further delay, I present to you the BookIt top five plays of the week.
A Locked in Coastal Kicker
Coastal Carolina had some incredible uniforms on (in this blogger's opinion) for their 90s Night. They couldn't get the win, but their kicker definitely brought his A game. He hit a 58(!) yard field goal heading into halftime like it was nothing. The fans were loving it.
The KJ Duff Snag
KJ Duff was having a day in Maryland on Saturday. Ball knowers are aware of how talented he is and that was fully on display here. How about a one-handed snag for a TD?
Kirk Covers the Spread
This was not just a phenomenal play, but a bad beat for Bills spread bettors (-5). It could also have been a blessing for Raider bettors. It is all about perspective. In any case, what a throw by Kirk and catch by Tre Tucker. Wild ending to a great game in Vegas with the Raiders showing so much heart.
Petey Takes Flight
Unfortunately for the Guardians, they were sent home by the Rays on Monday night. But that takes nothing away from Petey Halpin making a great catch out in center field during Saturday's game. He was basically Cleveland's superstar during the series and you have to tip cap for his efforts.
Hockey Night Fisticuffs
This was not exactly a play, but it was certainly a highlight. We see hockey fights all the time, but the refs really let them go at it for a while. The crowd got a great show and maybe saw the best fight we'll see all year.
That is it for this week. Let me know what other plays I missed.
