MLB's Top Moments of the Year

With football season on the horizon, everyone has quickly forgotten about baseball. Nevermind the fact it carried us through all of summer (and is arguably better than football, but I digress). That said, I think it would be great to take stock of some of the year's best plays (and worst sequences). A good reminder of how great summer baseball can be. 

Rojas isn't just a game 7 hero, he can still make some clutch defensive plays. This toss did turn out to be an incredible out at first base.

Low key one of the most impressive home runs of the year. It is wild enough to see a ball hit into the water as it is, but at this pitch location, hard to see how that is even possible.

The icing on the cake is the announcer's call here, though.

There have been some inside-the-park homeruns this year, but this one stands out. A multitude of errors that is hard to understand taking place in a major league game. Yet, here it is. Easily a top 2026 moment. 

A highlight reel of 2026 would be incomplete without some Bobby Witt action. One of the best defenders in the league showing off his stuff at the WBC. The man is a walking highlight reel.

And for KC, of course.

With every highlight, there comes a lowlight. This one comes from Cincinatti where multiple pitchers just failed to find the zone.  They, somehow, walked SEVEN guys straight in one of the worst performances of the season.

This last lowlight is just embarrasing. It was already a blowout, so who cared? That said, can't be doing this in the big leagues.
