DAILY MLB NUGGET SHEET (5/29/26)

The dog days of summer are basically here with the Stanley Cup playoffs and NBA finals a few weeks from coming to an end. As degen gamblers, we are obligated to go to the diamond. Personally, I love baseball, which is interesting because I did not even watch it prior to discovering some person named BookitWithTrent. To help out the community and hopefully provide information that leads to some betting victories, I present the daily nugget sheet. These are things that stand out to me while I lab for the games of the day. The information for pitchers is based on their stats from the whole year while the information for teams is based on their performance over the past 24 to 30 days. The reason is simple. I want to focus on where teams have found recent success and where they have struggled. My view is that recent info is theoretically more relevant than what they were doing late March. Pitchers require a larger sample size, so I opt for the complete 2026 stats. Best of luck!

#1: Shota Imanaga is starting after giving up 7 earned runs vs Houston. Potential bounce back spot vs STL who has a WRC+ of 75 vs LHP (far below average of 100) in May. However, he is also coming off 4-days rest and threw for 94 pitches.

#2: Imanaga does have good K stuff, but STL has not been striking out much vs LHP since May 1^st. His splitter has a batting average of .150.

#3: Stephen Kolek for Kansas City threw a complete game vs Seattle last week and tossed 108 pitches (5-day rest). He gave up no runs and only 4 hits.

#4: Opposite Kolek, Gore also had a great start vs the Angels on SNB, so 4-day rest after 99 pitches. Kansas City has one of the worst WRC+ vs lefties to go along with one of the top 5 worst batting averages this month. In 11 starts, Gore has only gone a full 6 innings in 3 games.

#5: The Angels are coming of a 7-1-win vs the Tigers but flying across the country to Tampa from Michigan. Walbert Urena for LAA is a great groundball pitcher that has also not given up too much hard contact. He has gone at least 5 innings the 5 of the last 7 games.

#6: Nick Martinez, for Tampa, also does not get hit very hard. While the Angels K a lot, Martinez is not a big strikeout pitcher.

#7: Justin Wrobleski is coming off his worst start of the year for LAD. He’s facing the Phillies pitching one of the better fastballs in the game. For their part, Philly can hit that pitch well except for Bohm, whose batting average is .135. Marsh and Turner have been particularly good against it. #8: Logan Webb returns to the Giants after an IL stint and having a less than stellar season by his standards. They play at Coors with Lorenzen opposite Webb, who had a tough outing against Arizona, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits.
#9: The two biggest bullpen disparities are between KC (28th in ERA) and TEX (3rd in ERA) and ATL (4th in ERA) and CIN (27th).
#10: Miami and the NY Mets face off again for the 2nd time in a week. Peralta and Meyer, specifically, played against each other Saturday, with Meyer going 7 innings and no earned runs with 8 Ks while Peralta went 7 innings but with 8 hits and 4 earned runs, still tallying up 9 Ks.
