The Friday Night CFB PrizePicks Square to Take

We have a banger of a matchup tonight in the Bounce House between Baylor and UCF. Baylor fired Dave Aranda after two brutal losses to TCU and Kansas where the offense only managed two TDs. While those performances were horrid, the TCU and Kansas defenses are more than formidable units, especially against the pass. TCU ranks 5th in the country while Kansas comes in at 33rd. The UCF defense is comparable to these teams against the run but significantly worse against the pass, ranking 118th.

This is great news for DJ Lagway, who should not only be forced into a pass heavy script but should have a much easier time taking advantage of it. Lagway threw 53 times against TCU, and while he was abysmal only completing 22 passes, he still managed 256 yards. He fell short of this number last week against Kansas on 32 pass attempts but was aided by some shorter fields on turnovers. Not sure if he'll throw 53 times again but it may get decently close with this game script tonight. The UCF run D is stout and doesn't really do much to phase this offense because the tandem of Dawson Pendergrass and Caden Knighten is nothing of note.

UCF has given up plenty of explosives through the air in Big 12 and I don't see much else happening in tonight's matchup. Gavin Freeman and Louis Brown should give their secondary fits and will be the targets for those explosives all night. Win or lose, efficient or not, Lagway should have plenty of chances to fill up the box score through the air.
