Montero (7-5, 3.14 ERA, elite 0.96 WHIP) has been reliable and efficient for Detroit, with strong recent work (including eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings vs. the Cubs). However, his lower strikeout rate (6.6 K/9) and contact-oriented approach make him more vulnerable to a lineup featuring Pete Alonso, Gunnar Henderson, and Taylor Ward.
