MLB Best Bets & Hot Dude Report - Saturday, June 6th

It’s been an ice cold week of baseball betting for me, but last weekend was a movie as the kids would say. I am ready to recreate that magic or make some sort of sequel - and it starts TODAY.

Let’s talk about the Detroit Tigers. Holy moly did this team find their mojo in Tampa. I don’t think anyone saw that coming. What got into them? Well it could be that Gleyber Torres is back. He missed the entire month of May and returned this week. He’s got 7 hits in 3 games with two of them being doubles and one home run. Talk about being shot out of a fucking cannon. He’s not alone in that Tigers lineup. Riley Greene has also been red hot. He’s had hits in 8 of his last 9 games, with four of them being multi-hit games. 

I can’t figure out which Tiger I want to back, so I’m just going to attack them all. This team has scored 32 runs in their last 4 games. This is how we gamble now. We don’t get in the way of hot teams or hot dudes - we ride them.

Yesterday I bet the O 7.5 and it cashed. I was a little apprehensive about betting on Detroit because I didn’t want to fade the Mariners, as they were 8-2 in their last 10 and playing very good baseball. I’ll be going back to it today.

I’ll go ahead and say it…that line is SHORT.

The Twins aren’t great but they are much better than anyone expected. I don’t expect Minnesota to get line respect, but Joe Ryan has gotten it all season. 

I’m not saying Kansas City is getting hot or getting right, but the offense has not been terrible. The Royals are 3-5 in their last 8 games but have scored 5+ runs in 6 of them. This is all with Bobby Witt Jr not doing shit in his last few games. I know from experience dude, if ya know what I mean. 

The hot dude I’m seeing is Jac Caglianone. He’s got hits in 7 of his last 8 games and a few of those have been multi hits. Only one home run and a double (last night) in that stretch, but I will be on his HRR today.

Fuck it…this is my contrarian play of the day that I don’t want anyone tailing. Give me the Royals.

I’m fading the Houston Astros pitcher today. His name is Tatsuya Imai. He’s coming off a masterclass against the Brewers where he threw 110 pitches through 6 innings and only allowed 3 hits. The game before that he went 6 innings and allowed ZERO hits. This guy has been dialed, and you can certainly say I might be a bit contradicting with wanting to back hot hitters and teams, but not hit pitchers. Sure…I’ll probably have to learn my lesson, but I want to attack guys like Imai who are new to the MLB and I think unfamiliarity is greatly benefiting them.

He pitched against the A’s back on April 4th and he was stellar. Imai went 5.2 innings and had a season high 9 K’s. 

Similar to the Royals, the A’s aren’t winning games but they are scoring runs. Coming off a 5 hit 1 run performance in game one of this series yesterday, I like a bounce back from these bats against a pitcher they’ve already seen who just threw 110 pitches.
