It's The Best Time to Be A Sports Fan!
Given where we are in the calendar, now is the best time to be a sports enthusiast.

We are in the best time of year as sports fans, and it is not close. While I was thinking of what to write about for my first Bookit blog, I narrowed it down to the sports calendar being spectacular because there is something to look forward to EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!
College Football is in full swing, with each week bringing fireworks and upsets left and right. Is anyone any good? It’s hard to decide, given how often top teams lose to subpar opponents. With arguably the best slate of the season coming up this weekend, every team has questions that need answers.
The NFL is wide open in my opinion. Around the midway point of the season, you can make arguments for so many teams to make a deep run. The AFC race down the stretch will be very entertaining. Eight of the 16 teams have 5+ wins. As a Jacksonville Jaguars fan, it’s hard not to believe they can push for the #1 seed, even with the bias I may have. Buffalo will always be in the conversation as long as Josh Allen is alive. And you can never count out the Chiefs.
The 49ers and Vikings lead the NFC with six wins each, but teams like the Seahawks and Rams have underperformed with tons of talent on their rosters. The rest of the NFC North is right there in contention, too.
College basketball has arrived, and there are so many intriguing storylines. With NIL and the transfer portal as huge parts of college athletics, they've incentivized players to stay in school. That has helped teams like Florida, Duke, and Michigan State build excellent rosters with seasoned upperclassmen. Not to mention, the freshman class has another batch of elite players that will make significant impacts on their respective teams.
The NBA is off and running, with the East being a gauntlet this year. So many teams have a shot at the finals. The West will be a slugfest, too. Teams like Memphis and Portland have surpassed expectations early, while the Thunder have tons of injury concerns. This season’s rookie class has gotten off to a blazing start, which makes each night in the association that much better.
I’m not the biggest NHL fan in the world, but you have to respect every night that has theatrics and remarkable highlights on the ice, whether that's a flashy goal or a bone-crushing hit.
I get giddy when I check the schedules for each league. It makes getting through the tough workday that much easier.
With all that being said, enjoy it. This time of year as a sports fan is something special. Cheer loudly for your teams, sit back, relax, and cherish night-in, night-out, jam-packed action. I know I will!
