3 MUST SEE SEC games this weekend and how to bet them.

Mississippi State at South Carolina

Everyone’s excited about Kamario Taylor, and they should be. He’s made some throws that very few guys can make, and going into Minnesota and manhandling P.J. Fleck’s squad is not easy, no matter how easy they made it look.

But I will have to ask that we pump the brakes just a little. I’m hearing Heisman talk. I’m hearing College Football Playoff talk. And I agree the kid has the goods but I think this is a pretty prime opportunity for LaNorris Sellers to have a statement game.

Sellers has had an up-and-down career at South Carolina. Year 1, he was receiving Cam Newton comps, and Year 2 was incredibly underwhelming. Now we are in Year 3, and I don’t feel like that many people are talking about him, which is funny because he finally has a competent OC in Kendall Briles. He is playing behind his best O-line since he’s been there, and the defense and running game are solid as well. Not to mention a very underrated home-field environment.

Give me South Carolina and Sellers to have a big statement this weekend.

Florida at Auburn

This one is very interesting. Two new SEC coaches playing their first SEC games, and they have some history. These two coaches faced off when Sumrall was at Tulane and Golesh was at USF, with Sumrall getting the better of him.

But there’s also a revenge aspect for anyone who was on this Florida Gators team last year because Golesh and Byrum Brown went into The Swamp and beat the Gators, which some believe put the final nail in Billy Napier’s coffin.

Florida may have one of the most exciting offenses in college football. Jaden Baugh could be a top-three RB. Vernell Brown returned TWO punts for touchdowns last weekend. The Aaron Philo–Buster Faulkner connection is working so far against lesser competition.

Auburn, on the other hand, has already played a big game this year against Baylor on a neutral field and left a lot to be desired. Byrum Brown didn’t throw a touchdown and had three INTs. They also allowed DJ Lagway to throw for over 300 yards. With that being said, the defense was very opportunistic, creating turnovers and getting big stops.

In this game, I believe we get fairly conservative play-calling from both sides and a lot of feeling each other out, which is why I like the first-half under.

LSU at Ole Miss

This game really needs no introduction. Lane Kiffin is returning to Oxford, Mississippi, as the coach of the LSU Tigers. Scriptwriters couldn’t put together a better storyline.

Trinidad Chambliss is still there. Kewan Lacey is still there. Pete Golding is still there. And just about everyone else is gone.

Both these teams have already played in standalone games. LSU beat the BRAKES off Clemson, and Lane Kiffin gave one of the better halftime speeches I’ve ever heard. Trinidad Chambliss lit up Louisville with NFL throw after NFL throw.

But Ole Miss left some doubts for me. The offensive line didn’t look great, and the defense—specifically the secondary—looked ABYSMAL.

I am a firm believer that Lane Kiffin and LSU will be able to get more stops against Chambliss and Lacey than Ole Miss will be able to get against LSU.

Oxford will be rocking, but if LSU makes it through the first few drives, I think they win this game convincingly.
