3 BEST BETS FOR TODAYS MLB SLATE

I have 3 night slate winners and bonus bets for you guys. All you gotta do is read this very short article. I am a man of few words.

The Miami Marlins are one of the hottest teams in baseball, winners of 11 of their last 14 games. In the last calendar year, the Miami Marlins are a TOP FIVE team in baseball, and I’ve had success just pressing the Marlins button over and over during this run.

Today they close up a series with the Seattle Mariners, who scored zero runs last night and have some of the most inconsistent bats in the league. While I am nervous about Bryce Miller, who has been great with a 1.71 ERA, I think the hot Marlins get enough across the plate to complete the sweep.

The pick: Marlins ML +123

Bonus pick: Kyle Stowers. Kyle is awesome, but I’ve had absolutely no success betting him. He’s been held hitless in only 2 of his last 8 games. Guess what 2 games I bet him? Doesn’t matter—I will not be discouraged. Stowers homered in last night’s low-scoring affair, and he has 12 hits and 9 RBIs in his last 8 games. I’ll take him to stay hot.

Another team I haven’t had much luck figuring out all year? The Detroit Tigers. I had high expectations for this team, and they started BAD. Even before the Tarik Skubal injury, this team was surprisingly bad. Well, they’ve won 7 of their last 8 games and are attempting to close out a sweep against the Athletics, who are one of the most fun teams in baseball to watch at the plate but have been COLD.

Framber Valdez has not been a world-beater by any means, but he’s been a lot better than Jack Perkins, who gets worked around by pretty much everyone. Tigers stay hot. A’s stay cold.

Bonus pick: Finding the right Tigers batter can be tough, but Riley Greene has been a hot dude. He piled up 2 more hits and an RBI in yesterday’s game, giving him 10 hits, 4 homers, and 11 RBIs in his last 8 games.

If you know me at all, you know I don’t like to fade the Cleveland Guardians, a team I like to refer to as the “Gritty Guards.” But the Twins might be just as gritty. No one expected this team to be playing .500 ball up to the All-Star break, and even after losing their best player, Byron Buxton, to the IL, the bats have still remained hot, scoring 26 runs in 4 games against the Guardians and Yankees. I’ll take my chances with the Twins again at a short plus price.
