White Sox vs Cubs: What to Bet For This Midwest Rivalry on Monday

What a year it’s been for both Chicago baseball teams. The Cubs have established themselves as one of the best teams in baseball, and the White Sox are surging in the AL Central, up 5.5 games on the second place Tigers. Tonight’s matchup between Luis Castillo and Shota Imanaga should be absolute cinema, and the main question is, how are we making money on this game tonight?

The White Sox traded for Luis Castillo to try and bolster their starting rotation before the playoffs. He is coming off an absolute gem in his last start against the Reds, going seven innings and racking up ten strikeouts without giving up a single run. This was by far Castillo’s best start of the season, making tonight the perfect spot to fade him. 

Shota Imanaga, unlike Castillo, is coming off one of his worst starts of his season. He got hit up against the Nationals on the road, allowing four earned runs on three home runs. This is a great bounceback spot to back Shota, buying low after one of his worst starts of the season. 

The Cubs have lost three of their last four, so PCA and the boys will be looking to bounce back this series against their in-state rival. The White Sox, on the other hand, have won three in a row. This is the perfect buy low, sell high spot for the Chicago teams. Fade the red-hot White Sox, and back the Cubbies to set the tone and start this series off on the right foot. 

I want to keep the bullpens out of this bet. Give me Shota and the Cubs F5 -0.5 at (-110) on the runline. I’m betting on the Cubs to come out hot after an embarrassing series over the weekend. I’ll meet you at the cash counter when the Cubs are up after the fifth inning.
