The American Express Best Bets

The course this weekend, in past years, has played very easily for most of the field, despite playing quite long. The distance of this course definitely helps the longer hitters of the ball, which is why I'm going to target guys with long drives and good putters. Scottie Scheffler is currently +290 to win, which obviously seems fair given how dominant he's been, but I feel like someone that not a lot of people know will be coming out on top this weekend.

I know, I know that he won last year, but this course just fits his games way too well to not take him in this spot. I expect him to drive the ball well, as he usually does, as well as take advantage of his great wood game on these longer par fives. Although I do love Sepp in this tournament, I won't be taking him to win just because I know it's so hard to go back-to-back in the same tournament.

Now this is the guy who's gonna make some real noise this weekend. I expect Thorbjornsen to have his best start to date as a pro. He's finally getting the shine he deserves, getting a spot in the TGL, and I just feel all the momentum he's riding going into this year is going to be unbelievable for his game. Michael has to be the most underrated driver of the golf ball on the entire tour, and I expect him to showcase his abilities this weekend.
