Braves vs Twins: The Best MLB Bet to Make for Monday Night

After an up and down first half of the season, the Braves have come out on fire in the second half post-All Star Break. Tonight, they are on the road against Bailey Ober and the struggling Twins. Will Atlanta stay hot, or will the Twins shock the world and break out of their mini slump on Monday night?

Martin Perez has done it once again this season, finding success on the mound without elite stuff at the age of 35. In five of his last six starts, he’s pitched a shutout, lowering his ERA to an unbelievable 2.96. Perez has pitched unbelievably of late, but tonight on the road, he is going to have his hands full. 

The Twins have lost four of their last five games, but this is a team destined to make a postseason run. It’s now or never, and with Bailey Ober on the bump to eat up plenty of innings, they have just as good of a chance as ever against Atlanta tonight. The Twins also hit lefties relatively well which will be pivotal for their success against one of the best teams in baseball. 

I thought the odds in this matchup looked weird when they dropped last night. Atlanta should’ve opened up a much heavier favorite than (-120) on the moneyline. The Braves are now up to (-130) at some books, but that still seems short considering how good Perez has been and how much the Twins have struggled post All Star Break. The Twins look like one of the sharpest plays on the moneyline for Monday’s MLB slate. 

Although it might not look appetizing, take the Twins on the moneyline against the Braves on Monday. This game means more for Minnesota, and they can get to the left-handed starter. The Twins’ bullpen is more than serviceable enough to hold the lead later on in this one. I’ll meet you at the cash counter when the Twins shock the world and upset the Braves on Monday.
