The Curious Case of Jeremiyah Love's Draft Position
Where will College Footballs best Running Back be drafted tomorrow night?

Notre Dame is known for producing offensive lineman and tight ends. They are not known for having skill position players thrive in the NFL. I know this because I’m a fan. I wanted to believe in guys like CJ Prosise, Josh Adams, Darius Walker and Theo Riddick. Kyren Williams is a solid player, but he’s not a superstar. There hasn’t been a Jerome Bettis and Ricky Waters to come out of South Bend…until now.
Jeremiyah Love is different. He is special and any NFL team will be lucky to have him. With that said, I think he falls in the draft tomorrow. Pains me to say it but I just don’t see how he’s going in the top 5, and potentially even the top 10. It’s not mostly his fault as the RB position has not been a popular high draft pick, but I’m really surprised the betting market is telling a different story. His draft position is 4.5 and the under is -160. Doesn’t make sense to me unless a team who could use him is making a trade into the top 3. Let’s break it down.
3. Cardinals - their running back room is not great, but it’s serviceable. James Conners best days are behind him. He’s 30 and coming off an injury, but the Cardinals signed Tyler Allgeier and also have Trey Benson who they drafted in the 3rd round in 2024. Could they use a player like Love? Of course. But if you look at this roster, they need help EVERYWHERE. Drafting an RB would not be a smart move, unless they are just choosing the Raiders fate. Accept sucking next year and get your QB in 2027. Then you can pair a young QB with a RB and you’re set for the future. That’s the only way it makes sense, but I still don’t see it happening unless there’s a trade.
4. Titans - I’m a bigger Tony Pollard guy than most. The Titans went on a spending spree signing big agents such as Calvin Ridley and L’Jarius Snead. The only guy who plays hard and is worth a shit is Pollard. He’s had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons and is 28 years old. I know he’s not a #1 option, but similar to Arizona, this team needs a lot of help. I also think with Saleh coming in as their new head coach he will be focusing on defense. Just don’t see an RB here.
5. Giants - There has been a lot of steam with Jordyn Tyson being a sleeper pick here. I think addressing the WR room makes a lot more sense than the RB room. A lot of people have said the Giants would be fortunate to have Love fall to them here. I just don’t get it. Am I taking crazy pills, or is Cam Skattebo not the guy moving forward? And Tyrone Tracy has shown flashes of being a fun player. Certainly good enough to be a #2 option.
Between picks 2-5, I am just not seeing it. Again I remind you his draft position is at 4.5 with the under juiced, and 5.5 under is -325. So the betting market is telling us he is almost a lock to go in the first 5. What am I missing?
So that leaves me wondering where Love does land. Well, you’re not going to like this, but I think he falls out of the top 10.
6. Browns - not in need of an RB with Quinshon Judkins
7. Commanders - the Croskey-Merrit experiment could be over after one year and Jayden Daniels does need help, so Love to the Commanders does make sense. The only problem is their defense is awful and old. There are just too many solid players available - especially if Caleb Downs is on the board. Even still, the Commanders could go WR here. This is the earliest I think it makes sense for Love to go, but not where I’d put my money.
8. Saints - I could see Love to New Orleans if it weren’t for the Saints signing Travis Etienne.
9. Chiefs - I could certainly see Love in Kansas City if it weren’t for them signing Kenneth Walker.
10. Giants - This is where people are going to say Love goes if he’s still available. I already gave you my thoughts on why it doesn’t make sense for the Giants to go RB. I think their room is solid and they could address other needs like OL, WR or Defense.
11. Dolphins - No need for an RB.
12. Cowboys - And with the 12th pick of the NFL Draft…The Dallas Cowboys select…JEREMIYAH LOVE. Here it is. Dallas gets their guy. Jerry made some in season moves to beef up the defense. They also addressed the OL early in the last few drafts. They made a move to get Pickens to pair with Lamb, so all set there. Javontae Williams is a nice player, but he is not Love. Coach Schottenheimer loves running the ball too. This would be a home run for Dallas, and I think it makes sense IF there are no trades.
