Sunday & Steaks Super Bowl Best Bets

Sammy D is playing against his old divisional foe from his time as the starting QB for the New York Jets. We all remember the infamous "I'm seeing ghosts" clip on the sidelines. The Patriots tormented him, and now it's time to face his fears. I don't think Sam necessarily struggles, but I don't think he's going to light it up either. Coming off a seaeson high passing yard pefromance against the Rams, I think Darnold will be in his head on the biggest stage of his life. Therefore, he trusts his arm less, and trusts his legs more. I think we get a few Darnold scrambles - one of which ends up in the endzone.

I don't think Josh McCdaniels has been particularly good this postseason, but I do think he deserves credit for dialing up that flea flicker in Denver. It worked to perfection, and who was on the receiving end? Mack Hollins. With two weeks off to prepare, I have a hard time thinking Josh won't go deeper into his bag with another tick play or two, and I think he sticks with Mack to be the go to target.

Steak is taking the attempt, and I'm taking the yards. Simliar to how I feel about McCdaniels dialing up some trick plays, I think Klint Kubiak will respond. They traded for Shaheed for a reason. Now is the time to get creative, esepcially faced with the risk that Christian Gonzalez makes life difficult on JSN. I think Shaheed busts one  20+ yards when the Pats least expect it.

All week I've heard people talk about how these head coaches are conservative and will take the points if given the chance. Nonsense. This is the Super Bowl. Vrabel said he would chop his di** off to win this game. Mike Macdonald sees his son 30 minutes a week because he's married to the game. These guys made it this far, they will not be conservative. I foresee both coaches feeling the pressure and being a little uncharacteristic with going for it on 4th down.

Everyone is sleeping on Diggs in this game. He might be a scumbag, but he is certainly the most talented receiver on the Patriots roster. They are pushing back his court case so he can play in this game. You think they want to risk that bad publicity to not get him invovled in the SUPER BOWL?! Come on man. Drake is young and inexperienced. Every young QB should not overthink it and trust their best weapon if the going gets tough, which I expect it to.

In my game script, I have the Patriots slowing down Kenneth Walker and the run game early, which leads to the Seahawks needing to get creative with their play-calling. Shaheed is the most explosive player on the Seahawks, and they already got him involved early with a 51-yard bomb. In this game, I think his involvement comes in the form of an end-

There is no denying Drake Maye has struggled in these playoffs after putting up an MVP-like regular season. He’s faced the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 ranked defenses in the NFL, and played in the snowstorm of a lifetime in the second half of the AFC Championship. I’m choosing to buy a guy’s stock when it’s low in a big game where I don’t think many people believe in a 22-year-old, second-year QB to have success against this NASTY Seahawks defense. The Patriots will not be conservative in this game—they will let Drake sling it.

Marcus Jones and Rashid Shaheed share the field for the Super Bowl. They’re two of the most explosive players in the NFL, and both secondaries are swarming with guys capable of making a game-changing play.

This bet has hit in back-to-back Super Bowls, with Jauan Jennings and Kenny Pickett both attempting throws in recent games. Whether it’s a QB injury, a trick play, or a blowout situation, I think this is absolutely worth the value at plus money.
