Seattle vs Tennessee: How to Make Money Betting SNF Preseason Week 2

Betting the preseason is completely different than betting on the regular season or playoffs. You have to handicap motivation just as much as you have to cap talent. Tonight’s SNF matchup on paper looks like a stinker of a game between the defending Super Bowl champs and one of the worst teams in the NFL, but since it’s the preseason, the measly Titans are actually the betting favorite. 

On paper, seeing the Titans as the betting favorite against the reigning Super Bowl champs is super weird. If you’ve been following preseason football, you know that this game means a lot more for the rebuilding Titans than it does for the Seahawks. Seattle knows what they have, and their main goal for the preseason is to stay healthy. The Titans, on the other hand, are trying to establish their new culture. 

Robert Salah has made it very clear that his starters are playing on Sunday night, and they still have work to do before the regular season. I don’t expect Cam Ward to play a lot, but the combination of Mitch Trubisky. Will Levis and Hendon Hooker have plenty to prove themselves. 

On the other sideline, don’t expect to see Sam Darnold doing much of anything tonight. It should be a split of Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe, who don’t intimidate me whatsoever. Seattle has also had a ton of injuries at the running back position, stating that they won’t even play Jadarian Price tonight out of precaution. Again, the Seahawks aren’t looking to win or establish their culture tonight, they are just trying to stay as healthy. 

There’s a reason the Titans are 3.5 point favorites against the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The books clearly think we’re getting a more motivated Titans team on Sunday night, and I agree with them. Lock in the Titans, I’ll meet you at the cash counter when they shock the world and cover the spread against Seattle on Sunday.
