Royals vs Blue Jays: Why I’m Fading the Hottest Team in Baseball on Wednesday

Right now, the Royals are the hottest team in baseball. They’ve won 9 games in a row, and will be going for double digit victories against the Blue Jays tonight. Will Kansas City stay hot, or will the Blue Jays get a much needed win as they continue to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Randy Dobnak has been unbelievable of late, coming off back to back shutouts. He’s thrown 4 shutouts in his last 6 starts, an incredible feat. Dobnak is a guy that pitches to contact, and unfortunately, his matchup against the Blue Jays tonight couldn’t be worse. The Blue Jays put the ball in play, and don’t strike out. Dobnak is going to struggle against a contact-heavy Toronto team that is starving for a win on Wednesday.

The Blue Jays need a win more than any other team in baseball. They are running out of time, but still have a path to the postseason if they get going. Against a contact-heavy pitcher, Toronto has a chance to put some runs up early and often tonight. Fade the Royals, and back the Blue Jays to get a much needed win on Wednesday night. 

The Royals are the hottest team in baseball, and they opened up +115 on the moneyline with a starting pitcher coming off back to back shutouts. They have since moved to +130 on the moneyline. That is serious disrespect to both the Royals and Randy Dobnak. It looks like the books think the Royals win streak ends tonight, and I agree with them. Fade the Royals, and back the Blue Jays on the moneyline, I’ll meet you at the cash counter when Randy Dobnak gets destroyed on Wednesday.
