My World Cup Experience: Kansas City edition

Before I get into this blog and my experience at the World Cup I have to say a few things. First off I want to thank Bookit Sports for allowing me to do this as my profession and get to experience things like this. Every single person who signs off on these things and helps organize gets a massive thank you from me. I do a lot of things wrong but I think one thing I do right is living in the moment and fully experiencing the moment when it's happening. This game was a different type of energy and a special moment that I am so incredibly grateful that I got to experience. Enough of the sob story lets get into it. 

 

I will first start with the fans as I think that is the main difference of any event I have ever been a part of.  I will start with the negatives of the Argentina fans because there aren't many. The first problem I have with them is common sense and common courtesy. To be honest they lack a lot of it. They don’t give a fuck about a line or who’s up next in the beer line and they have zero personal space. Way too much touching for my liking. It was very annoying but that’s where the negative ends. 

 

These fans aside from that were awesome. They represent their country so well and have an aura to them that is really hard to describe. America is the greatest country in the world but we have so much negativity and people who frankly hate their lives and project it onto others. This is not the case anywhere else. These fans have such a joy and happiness to them that it is almost impossible to not smile when you’re around them. They are so proud where they come from and do not have a negative thing to say. A man next to me who was American described the city as “such a positive place” since these fans took over KC. They love their team and had zero bad things to say at any point of the game. 

 

The chants are my favorite thing about the game, they have so many and they’re non stop. I wish we could do it like they do it and don’t understand why we don’t. I loved being in that section with the die-hards and it was truly an unforgettable experience. 

 

Lastly I will get into the game and the stadium. I have been to Arrowhead multiple times and it was very cool to see it for something other than a Chiefs game. It was just as loud if not louder the entire time and I think the field looked fantastic in person. They did a great job but holy fuck do they need an upgrade in security. These guys couldn’t control shit the entire game. We had 3 fans standing on a singular seat and 40 fans lined up throughout the aisle. I legit couldn’t even leave to get a piss in the 70th minute and you guys know how bad my bladder is. They have another game coming up at Arrowhead and they need a serious upgrade in the security department. 

 

That’s all I have to say about my experience. Seeing Messi in person was a life changing watch. That guy is unbelievable and the World Cup has won me over in every way possible. I love it and can’t wait for the next game.
