My Thoughts on OKC

I am back in the office after OKC took down Wemby and the Spurs. OKC was a lot different than expected and I have a lot of things to break down. Let's get into it. 

First off I will start with the city of Oklahoma City as I have never been. I don’t know if I expected it to be bigger or what but the city reminds me of Des Moines which sounds insane but hear me out. The downtown scene is barely anything and there's like 3 buildings that don't resemble an insurance building. It’s very small but is centered around the arena and has a nice vibe to it. 

Let’s get into what really matters and that’s the game experience and the arena itself. I would have to try really hard to complain about this stadium and the fans that are in it but I have to be as honest as possible so I’ll give my best rating. The stadium is in its last couple years and will have a brand new stadium directly across the street very soon. Trent made a statement that fit this place perfectly. Is there anything wrong with it? No but it doesn’t look like the place that the best team in the NBA should be calling home. It is a very average NBA stadium and also very small. It gives you that college atmosphere which I absolutely love. The best part of its small size is how loud it gets but they are a dynasty and need bigger for their fans. 

Speaking of their fans, I can’t say enough. I didn’t meet a single fan that wasn’t rowdy in the best way possible. They stood for 90% of the game and yelled their ass off the entire time. That city loves their basketball team and when they’re as good as they are it makes it that much easier. Did I bet 1.6k on the Thunder? Yes, did that make my experience a lot better? Yes but I can’t help it. I promise if you go into that stadium and cheer on that team with those fans you will have a very different opinion on that city and that team. Oklahoma City gets a 10/10 in my book and I would love to go back.
