I'm Nuking a Team I Absoltely Hate

If you know me, you know I really really HATE a few things in sports. The Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia Flyers, the entire city of Cincinnati, the Arizona Wildcats. No matter how good the spot is in a matchup involving those teams, I will not bet them. Call me old school or petty. Call me a pussy. I don't care. People don't care enough these days to keep up with the hate of their favorite childhood teams rivals and that is sad.
With that being said: today, I'm dropping that 💀.

The Cincinnati Reds host the Chicago Cubs in a three-game weekend series to close out the first half of the season. If you remember from before the MLB season, the Reds were my Cubs. Their fanbase is one of the worst in sports, boasting delusional takes on the daily and are some of the dumbest to even have conversation or debate with. They're the fanbase that just tells you "THIS PLAYER IS BETTER THAN YOUR PLAYER I HAVE PROOF THAT THAT ACTUALLY ISN'T TRUE BUT I WILL MAKE MYSELF LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT AND STILL SAY OTHERWISE."
On the bump: Shota Imanaga vs Hunter Greene. Greene is fresh off his first start of the season coming back from a loose bodies (LMAO) injury in his elbow, where he got absoltely rocked:
3.1 IP, 7 H, 8 ER, 4 BB, 7Ks
We know what Hunter Greene is and can be: A high velocity fastball pitcher with elite putaway stuff for strikeouts that can mow through lineups when he's at his best. You would expect someone like Greene who missed extended time to struggle to settle into his first start back. I can't name you any other examples of pitchers of his type coming back from significant injury, outside of Pirates goat Jared Jones off Tommy-John and struggling in his first start before settling in (had a perfect game thru 6 two days ago), because at heart I am a baseball casual that just so happens to be mildly good at betting the sport (thank you Lord for bringing betting splits into this world).
Speaking of betting splits ... the green-book splits on this game?
Cubs ML: 70% of bets, 20% of money
Reds ML: 30% of bets, 80% of money
You know what they say when it comes to splits: Follow the fuckin money. Sharps are hammering the Reds.
And I think it's because the Reds put up damage on Shota Imanaga. Shota has been sharp his last couple starts, allowing more than 2 earned runs his last five. The Reds see Shota a lot with him being in-divison, and Shota himself has been suscetible to fly balls more this season, which plays horribly for the Cubs in Great American Smallpark. Shota went 6 strong in his only other start vs the Reds this season, giving up just one run and striking out 10 while still going over his hits allowed. The second time around for hitters facing the same pitcher almost always benefits the hitters, and with a total of 9.5 with two high-profile pitchers on the mound, the Reds get a strong performance from Greene in a bounceback and hit the shit out of Shota.
Oh yeah. I also hate the Cubs. But not in the same way I hate those other teams. I hate the Cubs because they are insanely overrated. And come back to me when they drop a series to the rat shit Reds this weekend.
