How to Draft from the #8 Spot in Fantasy Football

Another day means another fantasy football mock draft as we are another day closer to the best season of the year. Today we don’t have the best spot to draft from or the worst spot. We are right in the middle but I like this spot and that is the #8 slot. We are mock drafting a 12 team PPR league. Here we go.
With the 1.08 pick it will either be really easy or really easy as you just have to take one of the three guys that will fall to you. Jonathan Taylor, James Cook & Amon Ra will have to fall to you and you can take whatever is left which is very simple. If two of them are there then take your pick but you can’t go wrong here. In my mock I settled with Amon Ra.
At 2.05 I was blessed with a top 5 fantasy WR basically every year in Nico Collins. I was lucky though not everyone will get that lucky. Most will have to settle with a Drake London or a Brock Bowers and that’s fine but if you can get Nico take him with everything you have.
This is where it gets tricky and a little uncomfortable as you have to take some risk on the potential these two have. Call this a reach if you want but dudes were taking Jeanty top 5 last year so I don’t care if I reach for a RB with injury concerns in the third. Give me Jeremiyah Love any day of the week at this spot. We need a RB and will take him all day on a low talent team that centers around him. Then we turn right around in Round 4 and take Cam Skattebo. This will make or break your team. Those picks will win you your league or make it crumble but that’s a risk we have to take.
In the 5th and 6th round is where you take care of business and take Ladd Mcconkey at 5.08 who is one of the best FLEX guys you can have in this league. He is a league winning pick. At 6.05 we raft a guy who gets a lot of hate and it may be deserved but he is a fantasy guy through and through and that is Jalen Hurts. This is the perfect spot to get him and you should if given the chance. We then finish off our starters with Kyle Pitts at 8.05 which is fine. You have no clue what you will get with him.
The bench is where you can go with whatever those nuts feel because other than Marvin Harrison in the 7.08 spot this is all what ifs. Rachaad White & Zach Charbonnet can be great and I think they will be but they’re nothing for you to start your season so don’t reach for them. If you can get them late then go get it. With the extra bench spots we picked up Michael Pittman & Jake Ferguson but they will only have to play on Bye weeks so who cares. I love this starting lineup from the #8 spot but this bench is dogshit. Everything has to go well for this tam to be a league winner.
