Despite What Steak Says, Jeff Sunday Still Stands on Business
Enough is Enough.

If you watch The Board Review, first of all, thank you. Second of all, you probably have heard my co-host Steak accuse me of not “standing on business.” He's not totally wrong, but he's taking it too far. I'm sick of his shit and I'm ready to speak out.
If you’re not familiar - our show has a live chat of about 200-300 people every day. When Steak and I have a debate, I would say that 5% of those people are on my side, and the remaining 95% usually take Steak's side. Mostly because he’s the nice guy, and also because he’s physically intimidating. What’s ironic about that is on the inside he’s a big ole teddy bear. And by big ole teddy bear I mean soft bitch who drinks peach seltzers on football Sundays. I can say these things because I know he’s not reading. He doesn’t read articles - he just skims, and he already went to the bottom.
I am an easy guy to like, but I am also an easy guy to not like. Very confusing, but I think if you’ve tuned in for long enough, you would understand.
Anyways, back to the point I was making - Steak has really leaned into “standing on business.” So much so that he has bet on the team he likes (Spurs and Pistons) every game in their respective playoff series. If he didn’t place a wager, then he at least liked/leaned them when giving his opinion on the show.
I’m not here to dissect Steak's warped brain and newfound betting style. Instead, what I am here to do is explain that I do indeed stand on business.
So where did this whole shtick start? I’ll tell you - it started with the Detroit Lions. The year was 2024, and the Detroit Lions had caught my eye about halfway through the season. I must have said for 4-5 weeks that I was falling in love with the Detroit Lions. Yet for whatever reason, I had not placed any sort of futures wager on them. I really have never been a timid or apprehensive gambler, but age changes you. I am old and I am soft. Beaten, battered and bruised some would say. I have also had ~2 really rough years gambling, so I try to be a bit more selective when placing actual bets, but I will still voice my opinion, as that costs nothing and a lot of people really respect it (hehe).
Fast forward to the end of that 2024 season, and Steak bet the Lions to win the Super Bowl. He then became the “Lions” guy. I started accusing him of “stealing my bitch” which he technically did and has done. Figuratively, never literally, just for the record.
You see, Steak's brain is a sponge. All of our brains are sponges. But Steak will do this thing where he hears you say something, yet he is only partly paying attention. So he comprehends it, analyzes it, agrees or disagrees with it, but then he will forget where he heard it from. So I remind him that if he does or likes something that was influenced by me, he should give me credit. To which he replies “maybe you should stand on business, and I wouldn’t be stealing your bitch.” Honestly…he’s right. But his recent example is where I draw the line and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Since 2024, Steak has really enjoyed labeling me as someone who doesn’t stand on business. Which at times is still true, but it’s not always true. He’s at it again now, and I need to get ahead of it.
I’ve said the Oklahoma City Thunder are the next NBA dynasty. I even tweeted last year that they could win 5 or more of the next 10 NBA Championships. I got a lot of pushback on this. Did I plant my flag in the ground? Not necessarily, but I didn’t shy away from it either. The odds market clearly respected the Thunder as I believe they were a ridiculous price to win the NBA Championship before the season started, so I’m not saying anything TOO ground breaking, at least not in my opinion. But I have still considered myself to be a Thunder “slurper” if you will.
Well, that’s changed. Sorry but it just has. SGA is the rightful MVP but I fear he is changing the game for the worse. This has always been a big critique I’ve had of LeBron. I do not like flopping and it’s really turned me off of the sport of basketball for the past few years. But it’s more than just that. The Spurs have really opened my eyes to something. Oklahoma City is talented, but they might..MIGHT..not be dawgs. And I love dawg.
When it comes to anything in life - you have to be a dawg. I gravitate towards players and teams who have dawg. Well guess who has some of the most dawg I’ve seen in years? The San Antonio Spurs. Sorry…I can’t help but find myself rooting for the Spurs to win.
I thought the Thunder would win the series in 6 games. I bet the Thunder in Game 5. I then “stood on business” and bet them in Game 6. They lost, and now we are in Game 7. So I’m betting the Spurs because of the reasons I’ve listed above - I am falling in love with the Spurs.
Is there anything wrong with that? I don’t think so. Things change. Opinions can change. I gamble to back up my opinion. So don’t be so quick to take Steaks side just because he’s got a bunch of tattoos and chains that are real gold.
I like beer on football Sundays. I drink coffee black. I'll rip a yellow American Spirit to stay awake. Jeff Sunday might be soft…but he ain’t no bitch.
