A Glorious Wednesday Evening of World Cup Matches

Morocco is a proper futbol team, and they have yet to show it offensively. This is a squad that hasn’t lost a match all year. They drew Brazil in their first test of the 2026 World Cup, which was good enough. Then they got in and got out against Scotland. 

I watched most of that game. My take away was that Morocco was clearly the better team, but they went on the defensive for the majority of the game after the early goal. It was hostile territory in New England with rowdy Scottish fans taking over. They got in, got the result, and got out. Now is their time to score some goals.

I’m not sure about an exact score here, so I’m taking a correct score combination of Morocco 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 (+130)

Scotland’s fans have been quite a joy to watch and enjoy their time here in the states. Not sure if it’s a rumor or not, but I saw they drank all the beer in Boston. I am gullible, but that sounds believable.

The Scots fought their butts off against Morocco. As I stated above, Morocco got an early goal and then focused on defense, but Scotland fought hard and created a few quality chances. At least giving the fans their monies worth. The problem I have is that Boston was a great fit for Scotland. Today they play Brazil in Miami. That is NOT a great fit for Scotland.

I think this is where Brazil puts on a show. Yes, they put up 3 against Haiti, but I’m not sure that was quite enough. I am concerned that Scotland will do to Brazil what Ghana just did to England and play just about everyone in the box, but I’m not overthinking it. Scotland might find the net, but I like Brazil big here.

No strong read for me on this one. I keep hearing Mexico doesn’t need a win here, so most will likely lean towards the draw. I’m not sure Czechia is good enough to draw if they were trying and Mexico wasn’t. That draw against South Africa was quite pathetic.

Fuck it - give me Mexico 2-0 here (-110)

South Africa is not very good at soccer. South Korea is. 

I’ll admit this line does seem a bit short. SK only -170 to win? A little strange. Once again, not overthinking it.
