7/6 Picks & Thoughts

Happy Monday morning you beautiful people. I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend celebrating our independence. It was a busy ass weekend for me on the lake but I’m happy to be back home. None of you care, let’s get into the plays. 

If you know me you know I love to bet with my balls and my eyes and not look at stats and other bullshit. Well the good thing about soccer has been that I have no clue what the fuck is even going on. Am I a casual? Yes. Am I winning fat units in the World Cup? Somehow, also yes. The most overrated team that I have watched this tournament is far and away Brazil & Portugal and Brazil fucked me last night so there’s no way I am letting Portugal do the same. Ronaldo is a tough watch to be honest, he’s nowhere near Messi at the end of his career. I’d love to bet him not to score but my book doesn’t have those odds. Lamine Yamal has been a shell of himself it has felt like, I just haven’t been overly impressed by the kid but I think that changes today. It’s his coming out party.

USA vs Belgium for a trip to the Quarterfinals. Where do I begin? I’ll start with what being born in the USA means to me. I love this fucking country, land of the free and the home of the brave. The greatest country in the world and it’s not close. We are better than every other country at 99% of things but one of the things we are notoriously bad at is soccer. It’s true, we kind of suck at this shit but has that changed? I don’t know. Does a win against Bosnia, Australia & Paraguay really move you? It sure as fuck doesn’t move me. I will have a couple plays in this game but you will have to wait for those. 

Before I end this blog let’s touch on Flo Balogun. He has taken over the timeline and has been tweeted about maybe 1500 times by countless people that I know for a fact didn’t know he existed. Flo Balogun is a great player but he didn’t save your life, you morons. A tweet here and there or when he scores is great, he’s putting the team on his back but several tweets after his red card was taken away has turned me into a hater. I’m sorry. Am I a hater or just a man who sees it how it is? You be the judge. I will have a fat pick for you tonight in this game. Stay tuned.
